NRA Annual Convention Kicks Off

NRA Annual Convention Kicks Off

Guns will be banned from the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Dallas, where President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are slated to speak at Friday's leadership forum. The more guns you have, the less safe you are. Trump brought up the possibility of raising the age to buy a long gun from 18 to 21, and the administration is moving to potentially implement a ban on bump stocks. "Can someone explain this to me?"

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Cameron Kasky also weighed in on the matter, writing: "The NRA has evolved into such a hilarious parody of itself".

"According to the NRA, we should want everyone to have weapons when we are in public", he wrote. "But when they put on a convention, the weapons are a concern?" tweeted Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter, Jaime, was killed in the Parkland shooting. Several emails were attached to the NRA's filing, including one dated February 28 saying, "Next time I hope it's someone in your family looking down the barrel of a gun or shot in the back trying to flee some great Floridian".

Secret Service officials said in a statement that the agency has the "authority to preclude firearms from entering sites visited by our protectees, including those located in open-carry states". "Am I missing something?" he asked on Twitter.

Guns were also banned when Trump spoke at last year's NRA convention in Atlanta. After all, they have all these good guys with guns to protect them. The NRA spent $11.4 million to elect Trump and $19 million against Hillary Clinton.

This will mark the fourth year in a row Trump speaks at the event.

Stokes says, "They will not be able to take the street".

A White House official confirmed Monday to the Associated Press that President Donald Trump, a frequent advocate and ally of the gun lobby, will address the NRA's annual meeting this week.
