Sikh soldier wears turban in Queen's official birthday parade

This year, Prince George and Princess Charlotte stole the Queen's limelight at Trooping the Colour 2018, along with their cousin Savannah Phillips.

The entire royal family has turned out in London for a spectacular military parade to mark the 92nd birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

Prince Harry is relegated to a spot in a carriage because he is not a royal colonel.

Meghan fit right in with her pale pink dress and asymmetrical hat, beaming like the new bride she is. So, three weeks after her wedding, which was followed by an outing at a Buckingham Palace garden party for the charities and organizations tied to Prince Charles, who turns 70 this year, Meghan is now plunging-carefully and deliberately-into royal life.

Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial spectacle that brings together prestigious regiments and the families of the serving men and women in celebration of the monarch's official birthday.

Featuring 1400 parading soldiers from the royal household divisions, 200 horses and 400 musicians, the annual Trooping the Colour parade dates back at least 260 years and is a marvellous display of British royal pomp and pageantry. The Duchess made sure to have her own style stand out while attending her very first Trooping the Colour parade.

After the ceremony the royal family will head back to Buckingham Palace and gather on the balcony to watch the RAF flypast.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's third child, Prince Louis, was noticeably absent from the event.

Since welcoming her second son, the Duchess has been made just a handful of public appearances.

Bringing Prince Harry's new bride along with her is a "is a really positive sign of favour, encouragement and endorsement by the Queen", Robert Lacey, historical consultant for Netflix's "The Crown", tells People.

The younger royals lined up in front of the adults to enjoy the fly-past of modern and historic aircraft, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte standing with their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Royal reporter Diana Pearl says that Prince Charles and Prince William hold the same rank, which is why they are dressed alike and on horseback.
