EPL: Klopp criticizes two players after 2-0 win over Palace

EPL: Klopp criticizes two players after 2-0 win over Palace

James Milner's first-half penalty and a late Sadio Mane strike gave Liverpool a 2-0 victory over 10-man Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday.

Palace's hopes of getting back into the game were dealt a blow when, on 75 minutes, full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka saw red for felling Salah with the Egyptian through on goal.

James Milner opened the scoring from the penalty spot in Monday's Premier League game after former Reds defender Mamadou Sakho was harshly adjudged to have brought down Mohamed Salah in the box.

In a competitive first half, Naby Keita's lovely ball created the first chance for Salah, who lobbed it way over the bar.

"It's a very tough game".

Virgil Van Dijk, if not the best, is one of the great centre-backs the Premier League has to offer.

"I do think it's a penalty when Max Meyer gets wiped out in the last minute by [Virgil] van Dijk", Hodgson said in his post-match press conference when asked his thoughts on the decisive spot kick. I do not want to talk a lot about that situation, like I said from point of view it was not and from the referee's point of view it was.

Liverpool started the season with a 4-0 thrashing of West Ham and are living up to their billing as a potential threat to title favorite Manchester City, the defending champions.

"I wasn't sure 100 per cent we would score tonight". "They are clear in their approach, playing a big number of long balls".

"I take some comfort and pride in that, but it's not going to change my disappointment and anger at how we came in at half-time losing 1-0".

That assurance, that confidence that they could swat aside any team in the league, was what made them so formidable, and Klopp's Liverpool also appear to have that air of invincibility about them.

"We have an unbelievable team and manager".

Angel Correa gave Atletico the lead in the 25th minute with a shot from close range after a great set up by Antoine Griezmann, who cleared a few defenders before sending a flawless ball to the forward behind the defense. It is too strong to say anything after two match days. "That's what we want to keep doing the whole season".

Milner converted from 12 yards and then Mane made the game safe in stoppage time with a breakaway goal.
