Roy Hodgson tips Liverpool for title glory

Roy Hodgson tips Liverpool for title glory

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their belief that England worldwide Jordan Henderson should not start against Crystal Palace.

Backing the Reds to push the likes of reigning champions Manchester City all the way this term, Hodgson continued: "It's a big club".

And Klopp is not underestimating the muscular presence of Benteke when they travel to Selhurst Park today.

According to Goal, the former Liverpool manager Hodgson is tipping them to lift the trophy in May.

"There's no doubt in my mind that he will be good this season because of the qualities he possesses", said Hodgson. Jonathan Williams is ruled out with a knee injury whereas veteran Scott Dann remains sidelined after rupturing his ACL last season.

"Even if he didn't score too often last season, he always has opportunities".

"Everybody who thinks about writing off Benteke makes a big mistake, because his obvious skills are always there", he said of the striker who led the Palace attack in their 2-0 win at Fulham on the opening day of the season.

"It's a big challenge to defend set-pieces when Christian is around".

"Not only does Firmino vacate the middle for Mane and Salah to make diagonal runs to score the goals, he also plays them in - he doesn't just move out of that position for other people to play them in", he added.

Zaha, 25, eased the Palace's faithful's fears by signing a five-year deal warning off suitors Chelsea and Tottenham who, arguably, would stand a better chance of silverware.

However, many Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to state that Henderson shouldn't start against Crystal Palace.

Admitting his coaching team had fretted around Zaha signing new terms in the off-season, Hodgson said he has challenged the former Manchester United flop to step up another level this year.

"He's very, very good; all players have got qualities of course, and there aren't many players who can literally do every single thing".
