Donald Trump Jr. 'fixes' Kaepernick Nike ad with his dad's face

Donald Trump Jr. 'fixes' Kaepernick Nike ad with his dad's face

The widow of a fallen Marine said Sunday on Fox & Friends that Nike's ad campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick was upsetting to see, given all of the military members that have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Kaepernick has not been signed by any of the NFL's 32 teams since the protests spread. "Even if it means sacrificing everything", as well as a 90-second commercial featuring numerous video clips of well-known athletes like LeBron James and Serena Williams, accompanied by a voice-over and appearance from Kaepernick himself.

Kaepernick's detractors, including the president, accuse him of disrespecting the flag, the national anthem, and the USA military through his actions.

The five-time Super Bowl champion has been supportive of Kaepernick in the past, saying he hopes the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback gets another shot to play in the NFL.

Nike's latest campaign starring Colin Kaepernick has gathered a lot of stick.

Nike this week unveiled the latest "Just Do It" campaign starring National Football League free agent Kaepernick, with one image reading: "Believe in something".

So it seems that one of the outcomes of this whole saga is that people (and companies) are starting to realize how hard it can be for athlete activists to speak out, and they're actually celebrating such sacrifices (and attempting to connect their brands to them).

Nine Line Apparel introduced the new line in direct response to sports clothing brand Nike's decision to use Kaepernick, who sparked a wave of hugely divisive NFL national anthem protests in 2016, as the new face of its iconic "Just Do It" campaign.

Back in May, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that players and league personnel on the sidelines would be required to stand during the national anthem.

Respect the flag and what it stands for. "I don't think it's appropriate what they did", he said before a rally in Montana. "Investors in OR, where Nike is headquartered, are buying the stock 850% more than they are selling".

However, NBC did show the anthem on Thursday night, and no players kneeled or protested in other ways.

There weren't any apparent protests during the season opener either. "We're trying to move past the rhetoric of what's right or what's wrong in terms of the anthem and really focus on the systematic issues that are plaguing our communities".
