Persistent Arsenal register first away win under Emery

Persistent Arsenal register first away win under Emery

Arsenal beat Cardiff 3-2 in south Wales to give Unai Emery his first away points as Gunners head coach.

Arsenal secured the spoils in a five-goal thriller against Cardiff City, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette getting among the goals.

And Emery is hopeful Lacazette will start banging them in after his match victor, Danny Ward having got Cardiff back on terms for a second time.

They hit back eight minutes later, though, when Ward directed an expert header in off the left post from 12 yards out after Morrison nodded a free-kick back across goal.

Despite providing a strong performance - and two goals to please the home support - Warnock's side couldn't get anything from the game.

Warnock also insisted his job to keep Cardiff up is tougher than Emery's at Arsenal.

The Germany worldwide broke the deadlock in the 11th minute with a powerful header from Granit Xhaka's corner.

"For me, all the minutes he is playing is important for his performance". On a much brighter note, we haven't lost to Cardiff in a competitive match for over 50 Years and they haven't scored in the last four. Aaron Ramsey was huge, Lacazette played both creator and finisher while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took his goal superbly.

Lacazette shot over with his back to goal and Mustafi nearly profited from another set-piece. Though Cardiff had by far fewer shots on goal than the visitors, it was far too easy for them to equalise - twice.

Xhaka has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal team but most Gunners fans would admit that he is yet to step his game up and produce consistent displays this term.

Arsenal go into the match as overwhelming favourites and if they are to avoid slipping up they will need their attacking players to be at their best.

Cech entered the game having made the most saves of any Premier League keeper in the opening three rounds but every mistake he makes is another argument in favour of giving new signing Bernd Leno a chance to show what he can do.

Then just six minutes later, Cech - again - nearly gifted Cardiff their first goal of the season, when his forced misplaced pass fell straight to Harry Arter who subsequently fired the ball way over the crossbar.
